Christine Brunski of Environment Canada, Ontario Protection Branch, recently chose Lambton Wildlife Inc.to receive a court order award of $30,000. Lambton Wildlife was chosen (after being suggested by LWI member Darcy Higgins) to receive this money because of its stellar reputation in the County as protector of the natural environment.
Lambton Wildlife is celebrating it's 40th Anniversary on Oct. 25th at the "Y" Learning and Career Centre with a presentation of it's history by founding member Gerry Clements and others. Wine and light snacks will be served.

Two LWI members received awards recently; Kim Gledhill, the President's Award from the Lambton Environmental Association for her work with young people and many conservation projects and Elisabeth VanStam the Professor Emerittus Award form Lambton College.

Larry Cornelis completed a restoration project on his Uncle's farm. A wetland was restored to it's original state last spring. Birds, native plants, and amphibians all returned in abundance. A well-positioned observation platform completed the project. |
